By Faith Orphans Center is a non-profit organization whose mission and philosophy are derived from the Center’s motto found in the book of James 1: 27: That God our father accepts as pure and faultless; to look after orphans and widows in their distress’. Specifically, our aim is:

1. To support all the orphaned children at By Faith Orphans Center by meeting their physical and spiritual needs.

2. To sensitize others to become

partners of this noble task by providing them with an opportunity to bless the orphans as God enables them.

 

The Objective of the Center

Based on this background, the Center, under the directorship of Rhoda Katee Kiilu, has seen the need to reach out to more disadvantaged, orphaned children and rehabilitate them so as to give them equal opportunity by providing a sense of hope and support for their future.

The Center therefore takes care of socially, physically, emotionally, economically, and spiritually challenged orphans. The Center is dedicated to providing free education, food, clothing, good health, individual skills enhancement (leading to self-sustainment), and spiritual support to the children. The Center also counsels these traumatized children, most of whom have lost both parents.

​

Our major goal is to equip the children to be responsible world citizens once they leave the center. This will be done through vocational training, e.g. carpentry, masonry, secretarial and computer skills, hairdressing, livestock farming, poultry, etc. These vocational training opportunities are readily available through the village polytechnic. The brighter children are supported through secondary education and college education where they can pursue various careers in arts, sciences and engineering.

 

Our aim is to transform these children into responsible adults who can provide for themselves. This can only be realized if certain skills and expertise are instilled in these children.

 

The Center also plans to initiate projects that can generate income. This will go a long way in making the Center self-sustaining.
